PROPS: A DRAMA GAME for KIDS

Students take turns using random objects as props—imagining them to be different from the objects they actually are.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Prepare a box full of random objects, e.g., a roll of duct tape, a coffee mug, a pillow, a frisbee, a computer mouse, a piece of rope.

  • Sitting in a circle, select one of the items and demonstrate how it could be used as something completely different from what it actually is, e.g., if the object is a frisbee, you could pick it up and pretend you were driving a car with the frisbee as a steering wheel.

  • Pass the selected item around the circle. Each student should use it in a different creative way. When everyone has had a turn with one object, switch to a new one.
