TONGUE TWISTERS: A VOCAL WARM-UP for KIDS
Practicing Pronunciation

With this list of tongue twisters, students can: 1) clarify their pronunciation of words, 2) strengthen and stretch the muscles which they use to speak, and 3) discover what words and sounds they have trouble pronouncing.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Ask the students to repeat the phrase after you. Then have everyone say it in unison at least three times, getting faster and faster each time. Stress diction. 

• The lips, the teeth, the tip of the tongue

• Momma made me mash my M&M’s

• A noisy noise annoys an oyster

• The big black bug bit the big brown bear and made the big brown bear bleed blood.
